Indonesian tourism

do you know indonesian? Indonesia, a home of 220 million people, an archipelago consisting of 17,508 islands and a land that thrives in diversity, is without a doubt one of the few countries in the world with an abundance of cultures. In the life of an Indonesian, rites of passage are founded on customary or "adat" law, which differs from area to area. "Adat" law has a binding impact. Religious influences on the community are variously evident from island to island.

The triumph of Islamic Mataram Kingdom and its fractions (Yogyakarta dan Surakarta) had always been followed by the construction of pesanggrahan - a building or place that was constructed for meditating. Many of them were designed beautifully and now we can enjoy its past beauty from the valuable ruins. Tour de Djokdja through the theme of "Ruins of Sites" invites you to spend time there.

Going to the western part of Yogyakarta city, we invite you to visit Pesanggrahan Ambarketawang that was built by Paku Buwono II before the breakup of the Islamic Mataram. The place was the first palace of Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat kingdom, the fraction of Islamic Mataram that was ruled by Pangeran Mangkubumi. Heading eastwards, there are two other historical pesanggrahan buildings. There are Pesanggrahan Warungboto presenting the enchantment of Water Garden of the 18th Century and Pesanggrahan Gua Siluman keeping mysteries.

Bon Voyage!

Stepping on the First Palace of Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Kingdom
Pesanggrahan Ambarketawang was the first palace of Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat kingdom. Even though it has been very old, some remains of the building still keep enchantment, including the Saparan ceremony and the reading of traditional Javanese song called macapat.

The Mysterious Pesanggrahan Gua Siluman
Is it Gua Siluman or Gua Seluman? This is one of the mysteries of the pesanggrahan that is more often called as Gua Siluman that means the Cave of the Invisible (mysterious) powers. Visit and enjoy this historical site having underground tunnel.

Pesanggrahan Warungboto and the Enchantment of the 19th Century Water Garden
A very beautiful ancient water garden that was designed privately is found in Warungboto area. The water garden is located amidst the Pesanggarahan Warungboto that had ruined now.
